Opened in 2013 near St Albans, The Centurion Club has quickly established itself as one of the UK’s most forward-thinking golf experiences. Designed by Simon Gidman, it blends classic parkland aesthetics with contemporary touches – generous fairways, deep bunkering, and large, fast greens shaped for tournament drama. It’s best known for hosting the inaugural LIV Golf Invitational and other high-profile events like the Aramco Team Series, positioning it as a club for the modern game. The layout is routed through pine forest and open countryside, with shifting terrain and some superb elevated tee shots. The short par-4 5th and the long, curling 15th are highlights. While the front nine is more open, the back nine tightens with smarter shot demands. It’s a course that rewards bold play but punishes sloppy thinking. The experience off-course is just as polished – from the architect-designed clubhouse to Michelin-grade dining. The Centurion isn’t traditional – it’s disruptive, daring, and dialled into what’s next in golf.

The par-4 5th is a classic short hole with options – lay up or go for it over water. The 15th is a beast of a par-5 curling right with bunkers and trees waiting. The 18th is a strong closer, uphill to a sloped green in view of the terrace.

Consistent inland conditions – dry, mild, and well-drained. Playable year-round, with spring and summer offering ideal conditions. Autumn light adds beauty to the tree-lined holes.
