Rosewood Kauri Cliffs

Rosewood Kauri Cliffs occupies 6,000 acres of farmland and cliff-top coastline in New Zealand’s far north, with panoramic views over Cape Brett and the Cavalli Islands. Its David Harman-designed championship course, three private beaches, and all-inclusive lodge suites make it one of the country’s defining golf retreats.

In New Zealand’s Far North, Rosewood Kauri Cliffs occupies a remote plateau above the Pacific, where 6,000 acres of working farmland roll down to three pristine, private beaches. The estate’s championship golf course, designed by David Harman, spans over 7,100 yards across fifteen holes with ocean views – six of which run directly along the cliff edge, with the remainder threading through marsh, forest, and farmland further inland. It’s regularly ranked among the finest courses in New Zealand and the world.

The lodge itself holds 22 suites in a peaceful bush setting beside the main building, alongside two-bedroom and four-bedroom villas for larger groups, each with private pools and expansive Pacific views. Rates are largely inclusive, covering breakfast, pre-dinner drinks and canapés, a multi-course dinner each evening, and use of the lodge’s facilities. The kitchen blends European technique with New Zealand produce, while the spa – set within native totara forest – offers treatments drawing on local minerals and botanicals. Beyond the fairways, guests can arrange quad biking, horse riding, deep-sea fishing, and guided excursions to Ninety Mile Beach and the ancient Puketi Kauri Forest.
