We’ve spent decades playing golf. Proper golf. Our team includes high handicappers, scratch players, and a few who’ve made a living from the game—like Graeme, who’s played at the highest level. Between us, we’ve walked, played, and tested every course we send clients to. Not once. Dozens of times.
We’ve built a curated list of 82 of the finest courses across Scotland, Ireland, England, Wales, Portugal, and Spain. Every one of them has earned its place.
A great course needs more than just a famous name. It needs to feel right under your feet. The design has to flow. The bunkering should ask questions. Greens need to be clever. The land should work with the wind, not fight it. We look for variety, balance, challenge, and that feeling that stays with you after you’ve finished your round.
While everyone knows St Andrews, Ballybunion, and Royal County Down, some of the most rewarding experiences in our collection lie just beyond the spotlight.
Nairn, set on the Moray Firth, is a classic Highland links with fast-running fairways and firm, true greens. The closing stretch is especially strong, demanding smart shot choices when the wind picks up. Brora offers pure, unfiltered links golf. Electric fences protect the greens from grazing sheep, and there’s a charming rhythm to the round that never feels rushed or over-designed. Fortrose & Rosemarkie sits on a narrow peninsula, surrounded by water on three sides. It’s short on the card but full of clever design, wind strategy, and coastal beauty. Tain is a James Braid gem with a timeless layout, framed by the Dornoch Firth and rolling hills. It’s a favourite for golfers who appreciate subtle challenge over brute force. Royal Aberdeen has one of the finest front nines in the world—dunes, wind, and classic strategy baked into every hole.
Across the water, Tralee, Waterville, and Dooks all deliver extraordinary southwest Ireland coastal drama. Tralee’s back nine is jaw-dropping. Waterville combines muscle with elegance. Dooks, often overlooked, is pure fun—undulating, natural, and surprisingly tricky. Hogs Head is modern Irish luxury done right. Set beside Waterville, it offers slick conditioning, epic views, and a different flavour of links.
Lastly, Woburn, in the heart of England, offers three world-class heathland courses. Towering pines, championship pedigree, and immaculate presentation make it one of the UK’s finest inland golf experiences.
Each of these courses tells its own story. We’ve played them all – and we keep going back.
That means a proper welcome. A drink that appears before you ask. A setting that feels five-star without needing to say it. Whether it’s a grand clubhouse, a whisky by the fire, or a relaxed lunch in the sun, we care about the details that elevate the day.
We’ve dropped courses that don’t hold up. We’ve added a few that surprise people. It’s not about ticking boxes. It’s about delivering the kind of trip that people remember for the rest of their lives.
