Playing the Course
Designed by Willie Park Junior, Sunningdale’s Old Course opened its doors in 1901.
Laid out in the last days of gutty ball, Sunningdale’s Old Course overlooks a plethora of hills, heath and woodland that would not have been considered suitable for golf course construction. However, the course stretches over a long distance and owes its popularity to the development of the Haskell ball, initially imported from the United States.
