Skibo Castle
In a secluded corner of the Northern Highlands lies the Skibo Castle, Scotland’s best kept secret and private member club. Industrialist Andrew Carnegie, one of history’s greatest philanthropists, came to Skibo in 1898 and transformed the estate into what he rightly termed ‘Heaven on Earth’.
Begin your day as the sound of our resident bagpiper wakes you from your slumber. Sate your appetite with a wonderful breakfast before heading out for a flawless round on the Carnegie Links or perhaps a spot of fishing before lunch. Spend the afternoon beating your personal best at the shooting range or enjoying a canter around the estate on a beautiful chestnut mare. Take afternoon tea in the Drawing Room followed by a swim and a spa treatment before a refreshing aperitif, dinner and a sing-song around the piano that goes on into the early hours.
Facilities
The castle might be Edwardian, but the facilities are state of the art. Try zorbing in the spectacular steel-framed glass-paned pool, enjoy a game of tennis on the French clay court or try your hand at clay pigeon shooting, fishing or archery in the morning before winding down with a luxurious hot stone treatment and full body massage in the serenity of the Skibo Spa.
